Identifying

Okay, so I am a HUGE movie fan. I like all kinds, from Pride & Prejudice to Batman Begins to Rocky to the Godfather.
They are my escape, my mini vacations.
On my birthday we went to 27 Dresses which I loved, and want to go to again, and soon!
If any of you have seen a movie with me, you know, I am not a quiet watcher. I laugh and cry and if needed, scream. I just get soaked into the movie, into the story, into the characters.
After the movie, Felicity, Kellee and I went to Leatherby's for ice-cream. On the way there we were talking about the movie. A thought occurred to me... I identified with the main character, however Kellee started the conversation by saying "I'm the slutty best friend!!! Minus the slutty part." (in kind of a disappointing tone, that was just met with laughter from both me and Felicity). I said I was kind of like the main character, and Felicity said she was kind of like the writer. I then realized that everyone identifies with someone in a movie (at least the good ones) in some way or another, even if it is just a quality in them, or a situation that they are in, or something that they may want to do.
I find this very interesting and would love to hear from any of you about movies that you have loved and the characters that you identify with!

I'm Officially 29!!! Well, a Few Days Ago

Well, here it is... I am officially 29!!!
I had a wonderful birthday party!!! I was surrounded by some of my closest and dearest friends. I had so much fun talking to all of them about topics ranging from Law School (Congrats Felice!!!!) to how good soda tastes after a long day!
Kellee emailed all my friends, even the ones she didn't know at all. We planned on going to Texas Roadhouse, then heading to the movies, 27 Dresses, then heading for ice-cream at Leatherby's. Well Texas Roadhouse was an hour wait, we called Chili's and they said they would have a table ready for us when we arrived. So we headed to Chili's (thanks Kellee, I know its not your favorite!!!)
All I cared about was having my friends around on my birthday but they ALL surprised me with some wonderful gifts.
Julia gave me one of my favorite movies on DVD, The Scarlet Pimpernel (with Jane Seymour) and a cute little wipes case to keep in my purse.
Kellee gave me a necklace of Tinkerbell,
Felicity gave me "Wicked" green Crocs, summer smelling lotion and body spray,
Myndee gave me a vinyl picture glass frame with a wonderful saying on it, and a Bamboo (green) candle,
Angie gave me a gift card to Barnes & Noble,
Erin gave me a big coloring book.
The dinner was great, the movie was wonderful, and the ice-cream was so much fun!!! We almost replayed a scene from the movie, however some teenage girl was selecting 25 songs on the jukebox so we couldn't wait.
Here are a few pics...

Myndee, Felicity & Me

All of my great friends at the movies!!!

On Sunday my family got together and we had cake and ice-cream. My sister made such a wonderful green cake with a Jimmy Choo cake shoe box on top. It was beautiful. I will try to get pics and post them.
I just want to tell all my friends thank you for the support that you give me through out the year, not only on my birthday. I could not make it through this life without you all!!!
You made the start of my 29th year happy and memorable!!!

My Ride Home

I spent the morning with my mom shopping and having a good time spending time with her, and the afternoon with my sister. Tonight we went to my brothers house and he made sushi. Overall a good night. However on the way home after dropping off my sister I was pulled over tonight by the local police department.
I have been pulled over for non-registration (twice), and for failing to stop at a stop sign (which was brand new, and they had 4 other cars pulled over at that time for the SAME exact thing). I don't speed on the street that I was on, I didn't run a stop sign, my registration is valid/current. So when he asked me the regular question... "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I could honestly say "No".
I was very surprised to realize that the headlight on my drivers side is going out. He looked at them both and then did inform me that yes, the headlight on the drivers side of my vehicle was out and was not illuminating anything at this point. I told him I had no idea and I had just taken my car to the dealership for other repairs this morning and would have had them fix that, had I known. He took my information (driver's license & registration) and said that he would be back with me. After waiting a few minutes he brought my information back and just told me to get it fixed, then explained that they let drivers know because people that are intoxicated have a tendency to swerve to the lighter side, which would be my passenger side, which causes a lot of head on collisions. I thanked him for letting him know, and then continued on my way.
So, I am now aware that my light is out, and I did not receive a ticket, and that was my ride home this evening.

"Penciled In Life"

So over the last few days I have been filling in my new planner for the year. As well as some of my friends, and I have noticed, most of them do this with pen, I however do this in pencil. I have realized that I am afraid, in a way, to commit to any plan with pen. What if I end up not doing that, or if the date is changed, or if things fall through, then I have a mess on my calendar. I know a little of this has to do with my obsessive behavior and the control issues I have.
I am starting to embrace where I am in life, and know that I will not always be this way, and my life will change. I am excited and looking forward to going through these times, and changes, and this penciled in life.

New Year, New Hope

So this is kind of new thing for me. I have decided that with this year, and with the changes that I have been trying to make in my life, that I would do the New Year's Resolution thing. I have not been one to write down things I wanted to improve for the next year, I pretty much just took one day at a time. Well, in an effort to write down my goals and actually mark things of my list of things I want to do, here goes...

I want to lose about 25 lbs,
I want to eat out less,
I want to save money,
I want to be more organized,
I would like to be cleaner,
I want to be a happier person,
I would like to help others more,
I want to be a good friend, and let those close to me know more often that I care, and notice what they do for me.
I want to get better study habits,

I am hoping that by writing these goals down and having a place to look at these periodically I will be able to keep on track with where I would like my life to be. I'm looking forward to this new year with hope and confidence.
Ringing in the new year with my sisters family and her crazy 6 kids probably helped. They all make me laugh, and they were so excited to yell and scream in the new year. I am so glad that they invited me over!!!
Hope you all are well, and excited for the year ahead.
